This month we hosted two Cat Yoga classes and it was so fun bringing this experience back to Cat Therapy! As our skilled yoga instructor guided us through a series of soothing poses, the cats in the room couldn't resist getting in on the action. They gracefully sauntered around the mats, occasionally jumping up to join us in a downward-facing dog or a cat and cow stretch.
Cats, it seems, have a natural affinity for yoga. They love when people are down on the floor, at their level, and they recognize the various poses we do.
But the benefits of Cat Yoga go beyond just the entertainment factor. Studies have shown that the presence of animals can have a calming effect on our minds and bodies, reducing stress and anxiety levels. By combining the therapeutic power of yoga with the soothing companionship of cats, we're able to create a truly restorative experience that leaves you feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and it's more opportunity we like to offer to connect with our rescued kitties.
Cats are natural-born yogis, constantly stretching and contorting their bodies in ways that would make even the most experienced yogi envious. They instinctively recognize the poses we do in yoga and often join in, whether it's a downward-facing dog or a cat-like arch of the back.
The calming presence of cats has been shown to have a positive impact on our mental and physical well-being. Their soothing purrs, gentle movements, and adorable antics can help to lower our stress levels and promote a sense of relaxation and mindfulness.
